The 2018 Lagos International Poetry Festival Is Here

Lagos, Nigeria, celebrates poetry this October, which is the 2018 version of the annual event

The 2018 Lagos International Poetry Festival, the showpiece’s fourth edition, will take place from 31 October to 4 November at Freedom Park, Lagos. Its theme, “Wide Awake,” will emphasize “the growing importance of vigilance in a post-truth era.” Founded in 2015 by performance poet Efe Paul Azino, author of For Broken Men Who Cross Often, the festival will feature five days of performances, panels, and workshops.

The 2017 edition, themed “Bridges From Walls,” brought together 30 poets, writers and artists from around the world in a feast of conversations, performances, and parties, from 1-5 November. Among the guests were Chris Abani and Koleka Putuma.

Interested people can register online on the festival Website: www.lagospoetryfestival.com.
